Festivus for the rest of us!

Wags on this thread I am taking your advise. To me it looks like an opportunity to open mouth and insert foot. :;:thumbsup

    Prairie dog distress call

I don't know of any mouth call made specifically for reproducing a prairie dog distress sound, but any adjustable open reed call or diaphragm call would work. It will take some practice to learn how to do that.

    A Nervous Father.............................

That isn't old. Old is when your grandkids are near that age. I don't know how much I am going to like being called great grand dad. There is one advantage to being as old as I am ----- life in prison isn't that big a deal. :)

    Gun guys??

5575 I have had about a half dozen TC muzzeloaders, and they have an outstanding warranty. I am also a fan of 5R rifling. That's one heck of a rifle for the price.

    Gun guys??

I have a number of rifles to choose from when I walk to the safe. I like my 270 Winchester, 308 Winchester, 300 Win Mag, 300 WSM, 6.5X284, and my 6.5 Creedmoors. My longest shot on a 4X4 deer was 758 yards. Travel after hit was five to six yards. I was shooting 140 Berger VLD. The new...

    Species Introduced to ND

Speaking of pigs the Game and Fish doesn't want them in the state, but it's illegal to shoot them. That doesn't sound to bright. They say someone could shoot a farmers pig. In the middle of the badlands?

    Species Introduced to ND

Actually the sheep are native. In Medora they have a mount of a now extinct Audubon sheep shot by Roosevelt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badlands_bighorn I like Kurts idea, but it makes me picture a bird dog holding his nose on point.

    Books

I like Peter Capstick, read a lot of gun tech material, but what I read most is the English Standard Version of the Bible. Guywhofishes I have heard about C S Lewis, but have not read any of his work. I guess I need to pick up one of his books. Your above quote may be compared to "I will...

    Handloading 6.5 creedmoor

I have only gone down to 120 Nosler Ballistic tip and 123 Amax. I have pushed both over 3000 fps with Hodgon Superformance. Yes I do like the Savage 10BA. They advertise factory blueprinting, and the rifle does shoot right around 1/4 inch groups with the 143 ELD-X, and that's without...

    Handloading 6.5 creedmoor

I was bow hunting this week-end, but camped out in the Sheyenne River valley where I also did a little shooting. A few years ago I gave away a hand press, only to buy a new one not as good for twice the money this summer. So I did a little reloading and chronographing in camp. Really need a...

Any other Bow hunters hunting during rifle?

Yup, I am bow hunting. Sitting in the trailer out in the pasture now. Just ate and the eyes want to slam shut. Got careless today and scared a nice buck off his scrape. Hardly a hunter around. Got bored and fell asleep in the tree stand. Woke up to something running through the grass...

    Range Finder Question

Retired educator I agree. I switch modes once in a while to see the difference and it's very little. I didn't look for a long range with angle compensation until I went bear hunting in Montana. One spot I sat and watched last spring was 1000 ft above the valley I expected to see a bear. The...

    Range Finder Question

Hmmm to bad I just sold a Nikon 1000 that reached 800 yards with angle compensation. A guy bought it for golf. Anyway, it was a backup to my Swarovski which doesn't have angle compensation. So my new backup is the Sig which reaches 3400 yards. They say. I did range a house at 3215 yards...

    Metal detector in Bismarck

After 47 years my finger is deformed. My finger would have to be cut off to get my ring off. I have a very good metal detector, and visit Bismarck often. If you don't find it in the next few days PM me. I should be over before the big freeze...

    Handheld GPS

I have had a half dozen. Talk to the guy who makes NDTRAX, and he said I had the best there is already for reception. It's a Garmin, I think model 64SC. Mine is older so I don't have the chip capability like the new ones. I have to download topo from a Garmin disk. I have been told the...

Well this is going to get interesting

Yes, I wish I didn't have to say some things, but they are not racist they area simply reality. It's sort of like Trump and Bill Clinton. Which is worse doing it or saying it?

Well this is going to get interesting

Warren Buffet wouldn't agree with you. For a reason. How much monetary support is he putting into the protest?
