    There aren't any on-screen adjustments that I know of. They're built into the controller. You switch between 3 light modes and turn LED's up or down physically on the box. I was able to make adjustments while hooked to the TV. I think this is the model I have. Not saying it's the cat's meow...

    I used mine twice last year ice fishing in a Yetti. The one I have has dedicated A/V out on the controller, not the small screen. I don't remember if the small screen stayed active or not once I hooked it up to the TV. Worked slick.

    Absolutely don't let the weight limit for having to register it be a major factor in your decision. It's not a big deal unless you're doing something illegal with it. You'll want bigger for better wind resistance, trust me. Nothing worse than trying to plan drone outings around the weather...
