    I've put dozens of different rod holders into boats over the years. I'm kinda of a rod holder nut, sometimes around 10 in a boat. I've tried them all, had lots of rams over the years. But for functionality and price a Scotty is hard to beat really. guess thats why they've been around so long.

    Idaho Spring Bear Hunt

    Moose broadhead question...

    Monte carbon steel are a good head. They are made by pouring molten pot metal into a mold. VPA is the same type of one piece stainless head but the are machined out of a piece of stainless. They're a stronger built head. QAD Exodus is a good head as well. Think about shooting allot heavier arrow...

    Idaho Spring Bear Hunt

    I watched a crazy Wayne Carlton video down in the SW one time with him calling them in. Big buggers came in running and then the crazy bugger jumped out from behind a tree and sprayed the thing in the face with pepper spray at about 5 feet!

    I'd go to scheels when the spring sale comes and get yourself a nice guide or walleye series rod. Maybe even an upper model of theirs if the price is right and you like the feel of it. Something in that 6'2"-6'8" or so. Fenwick elite tech is also a nice rod in that price range. Hard to beat the...
