    I actually think there was one or two years the DNR didn't let them net. Can't say for certain but I believe that happened. Snow would know - - - Updated - - - DNR has zero credibility in MN. The study was done by the U of M. They will say whatever they're told and say whatever is necessary...

    Many years ago I read in one of the major rags that the best thing to do with a fish intended for mounting is wrap the fish in a wet burlap sack. But before you wrap the fish in it sprinkle Mule Team Borax all over the fish. That is supposed to maintain the color of the fish so they say.

    it's kind of crazy. across the highway from me west of Williston a developer built a dozen homes that 800-900 sq. feet. there is a reason there are two foundations that have never been capped for three years now.

    There should be a third question to the poll. Who is in favor of slots where the biologists feel there is a high probability they will work or where they are proven to work. That's what I would be in favor of. If MN hadn't used slots on Mille Lacs there would have only been a one month season...

    memorial day weekend as a general rule in the western half of the state. Might get by doing it earlier but frost can be an issue

    as long as the water is still water it doesn't matter what the temp is it'll run fine. If they can't be run in cold water then as I stated you bought the wrong motor no matter how good people claim they are lol

    I've tried a bunch of different cranking rods over the years. The best for the buck I've found are the Daiwa Heartland telescopic rods. I am running more Daiwa Sealine Linecounters all the time.

    If there is a problem with operating in sub 40 degree water then you bought the wrong motor.

    the bottom line is you can't make a blanket statement saying slots "don't work" or "do work". There are many things that come into play to determine if slots work in a given body of water. Slots may work for one body of water and not for the next. And they may only work for a period of time...
