    Only reason to get a big permanent is so you can get wasted and spend the night...haha Just bring a sober friend, or fish close to the resort. How many nights does a nonretired guy actually spend overnight on the ice. I could see if you are retired, and have a bunch of time on your hands.

    My two youngest start next week with hunter safety. Pretty stoked about it. My last trip out bird hunting, season finally, my son shot his 4th bird of the season, and my dog caught a rooster....haha they out hunted me. God Bless you guys that give that time and energy to our youth.

    I have an 18, I only use it with the bottom zoom. I cant imagine fishing without it. My buddy has the 20 and 28, the instant digital depth on the 28 is neat, but I don't think it is $200+ more in cost neat. it gets the 3 on the neatness scale.
