Sak, it's been a good run!

Oh yeah, and new residents down on the river front have a tendency to get nervous when they get home from work and the river is 5-7 ft higher than they remember it being just that morning.

Sak, it's been a good run!

Yes, the Missouri is currently open in the Bismarck area. As we are now seeing ice floes coming downstream, they will eventually get "stuck", most likely in the meanders down by the Univ of Mary. Once they do that, the ones coming in behind them will run into those already stuck, and when they...

    Law Enforcement Appreciation D

While I am hoping nothing comes of the "assault" charge, reporters like this guy are the absolute scum of the Earth. There's a time and place for interviews, harassing people as they walk down the street with loaded questions is a far stretch different than the type of journalism I support.

Yep, I get it, this is something that goes way back to at least the 80s and was heavily pushed by the ag community. Given the current ag economy, one should probably revisit this concept.

    Slight Tire Problem and ?

I know a couple people that run Blizzak tires for winter driving. They really like them on their front wheel drive cars. Zogman said he was running to Arizona though, good tire to get there, but if a person is going to spend any time in Arizona as it starts to warm up here going forward, I...

I believe they are 245/60 on the 20" rims.

    Slight Tire Problem and ?

Isn't the Limited an all-wheel drive version of the 4Runner? I have a 2015 SR5 with 4WD and have never needed a dedicated snow tire for it. All season tires have done just fine, and I live rural and have tried to get it stuck. Then again, I am in the banana belt of ND compared to you.

    Not in the slightest.

I haven't been an employee of the state since I left UND back in 2003.

    Vehicle donation?

When I donate, I don't usually give a darn what the tax implications are for me. Because...well, I just always seem to get eff'ed when it comes to taxes.

The conversation wasn't about what the State was, or wasn't spending. You along with a few others are/were saying people who don't have skin in the game shouldn't be voting on what to do with property taxes. Yet, you don't think the same should apply to other taxes. It just means you're being...

Hey now, you know full and well the vast majority of the "slush funds" as you call them are full of taxes on oil production. Following the ridiculous line of thought in this thread, unless you have paid oil production and extraction taxes, you shouldn't have a say in what happens to that money.

Along the same line, we should only let current and former members of the U.S. military vote on military budgets and operations. Probably should only let women vote on female reproduction rights as well. And while we are at it, only farmers should vote on things pertaining to agriculture.

What...the...actual...F? That is literally the whole concept of a property tax? It's people on a local level setting the spending for the local needs and wants. So far as I know, not a single cent of my property taxes go to State level expenditures.

I haven't had to work with budgets for a few years now, but I don't recall EVER seeing such round numbers on so many budgets.

Specials cover major repairs and new construction. Annual pothole/crack repair, snow removal and blading of gravel roads are paid for using property taxes.

Sak, it's been a good run!

Yes, it would probably be best to not set the new Minimum snowpack. Like you said, anything can happen but El Nino is supposed to be with us until sometime between April and June. Sure doesn't mean things won't improve, but the current trend is not good.

Looking kind of dusty out in the mountains. Needless to say, it's still very early in the snow accumulation season, but this is notable.
