    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must be really busy. In another year or so I should be able to expand and work in the garden as much as I want. Which would be every day except for fishing! Busy is good.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try spraying cold water on the leaves; sometimes all aphids need is a cool blast to dislodge them. Typically they are unable to find their way back to the same plant. If you have a large aphid invasion, dust plants with flour. It constipates the pests. Neem oil, insecticidal soaps, and...

The Toronto Blue Jays have been barred from playing games in Canada for the 2020 MLB season over fear of spreading the coronavirus. The season, which was delayed due to the pandemic, is scheduled to begin at the end of July. "Based on the best-available public health advice, we have concluded...

Maps of Sakakawea with bay names

I'm not sure of the official name of the bay west of Beulah but I named it Shit bay after a bad case of the shits put me on the shore. Thought my fishing buddies were going to sink the boat from laughing to hard.

    Coleharbor fishing over the 4th

Been hit and miss on Audubon. Same over the embankment. The wind may well determine your choice.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of these days I am going to do the same. I'm thinking a chicken wire lid would be the ticket. That would also help hold the straw over the winter.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomatoes may bounce back depending on the damage. Peppers too but sometimes it's just easier to replant. It sucks but not too late to replant. My garden is begging for rain. The grass is going dormant.

    Our Neighbors to the East

I read that in some parts of Minneapolis barricades were set up and people were carrying baseball bats. In preparation for the riot gang.

    Our Neighbors to the East

I can’t read this entire thread because I’m already so ticked off. The libs in Minnesota are getting paid back for their stupidity.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watering on a regular basis goes a long way to avoid blossom end rot. I don’t add anything special to the soil but try to water on a schedule. Rarely see blossom end rot.

    Sweet potatoes

I had really good luck with them once. Not consistently though. Sam's club is where I get them now. They like warm soil so a raised bed of sorts is a good idea.

    Potatoes - Hill or no?

I plant them in a row. Deep. Some years are better than others. Probably because I don't water them enough.

    Siding & Window recommendations

Installation of smart siding is the secret to success. I'm guessing lots of it installed incorrectly by flaky companies. It's one of those projects where you need to read the instructions and follow them.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also put mine out and let them get used to real weather. I’m now focusing on beans, corn, spinach, carrots and swiss chard. Tomatoes and peppers can wait till later. If we don’t get some rain soon it’s going to be a dust bowl. At least west of Bismarck.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I make my own heavy duty stakes using chain link fencing bars from Menards. They last forever and are easy to make. Cut and bend in a vise.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad grew peanuts when I was a kid. No idea how they turned out. I’m pretty sure that sandy loam is the ticket for melons. I have not much luck with the heavy clay soil. Not with water melons anyway. They need lots of water.
