    I hate Elk

I feel your pain. Fricken whitetails tear up my trees in my yard, but are never courteous enough to provide a legal opportunity to murder one. Deer are Jerks (nodakangler.com)

;:;badidea That can work (as in you won't die), depending on the powder and case used, but seems like a pretty bold strategy.

Thanks for the heads up. The 69 SMK has not been too hard to find. Unfortunately, I'm looking for the 69 TMK, which has a much better BC, and is a confirmed prairie dog 'sploder.

    Arrow Building

Come on Wags, just think about how much you've learned and how much more shooting you've done. Building arrows is a lot like reloading. There are frustrations along the way, but you end up with a better product that you have more confidence in and more pride when it works. Also like reloading...

    I have about 150. You have any H1000 or RL 26 to trade? How about 6mm 87 v-max, 6mm 108 ELDM, 6.5 140 ELDM, or 7mm 180 ELDM?

    Arrow Building

I went 'full retard' on the heavy arrow thing, and shoot a 620 grain 250 spine Victory Extorsion. They are hammers for sure (3 out of 3 pass-throughs: 2 deer, 1 elk), but past 50 yards you really need to know your yardage because they drop off in a hurry. I'm now playing around with 300...

    Reloading Newbie Questions?

If you haven't bought the Nosler brass yet, I would steer you toward Lapua. Precision Reloading currently has both small and large primer in stock: Shop Rifle & Shotgun Reloading Supplies | Dies | Bullets | Hulls | Wads | Powder - Precision Reloading Nosler brass is not bad, but it's expensive...

::wowzers:: They occasionally still have those at Scheels for $40-ish per 1000. I hope I never have to pay 10x the normal price.

I actually prefer the small primer brass. There's more 'meat' around the primer pocket, which (seems to) help keep the pocket tight on multiple re-loads. I run the CCI 450 (small rifle magnum) and enjoy low extreme spreads, and have never had an ignition problem. In the current state of...

No. This is for a 22-250 bolt. It's a 9 twist, so I can't shoot the super heavies. I have some 70gr Berger VLD to try, but I really liked the way my brothers 22 Creed blew up prairie dogs with the 69 TMK. I've had 500 back ordered on Midway for 2 months now. I don't think they're coming...

    Vehicle "Safety" Work Arounds

Rigid seat belt extenders can be had for cheap. They stop the dinging, but also don't prevent you from buckling when you want to, and make it a bit easier to buckle by moving the port up a few inches. They're not just for the plus-sized crowd.

Update: Still have plenty of 9mm ammo at Fargo Scheels. Also, in addition to the CCI 250 and 450 that I noted on Thursday, they have Federal 210M and CCI 200.

To clarify: thats per 20 rounds loaded ammo (superformance). That's a good round. I harvested several deer with it prior to my reloading days, but I was getting it for like $25 a box off the shelf at Fleet Farm. If anyone is interested in the 95 SST projectile only, they are scarce, but can...

Scheels in Fargo had CCI 450, CCI 250 and I want to say 350s in stock last night (limit 200). They also had stacks of 9mm ammo. I talked to the reloading / ammo manager there. He said they got in what would normally be about 2 years-worth of 9mm ammo, and it probably won't last the weekend...

Not anymore. That's the problem, you can still get stuff, but you have to be looking for it constantly, and you have to be quick when you find it. Lever has been found to be a go-to powder for 6mm ARC and similar cases, so when it pops up, it's usually gone in a hurry. - - - Updated - - -...
