    Sakakawea Water Level 2020

That would help, and what makes the near-term interesting is that the CPC outlooks call for above normal chances for moisture in this part of the country going through March. However, thus far they have been tracking south. Put a couple of them up in the right areas and the prospects for...

    Sakakawea Water Level 2020

On that note, it's subtle as can be, but ol' Mother Nature is really just being as indecisive as the worst human female when being asked where/what she wants for dinner. From my perspective it looks like she's teetering on the edge of either going back on the wagon (full on drought again), or...

    Goose hunters & Jeff 2.0 ???

It wasn't the landowner, it was the farmer leasing the land from the elderly lady. What I want to know is when did vandalism become non-punishable under the law? Was he acting as his aunt's agent in destroying the decoys? Because if he just took it upon himself, this just smells of an unlawful...

    Sakakawea Water Level 2020

It's right at about 95-100% of normal for this time of year. Given the effect last year's drought had on the soils under the plains snowpack, the overall runoff is projected to be just shy of normal. Which is a step up compared to the past couple of years.

    NDGF is getting tech savvy

I wonder if it's defaulting to that because of archery only depredation tags? I know an area I've had a depredation tag before in an area you were allowed to bowhunt until the end of January, but I don't know of any locations open to bowhunting through March. Or, Occam's Razor would just...

House Bill 1151- Prohibiting baiting bans

Interesting take on the semantics of writing a law as by definition, deer includes moose, elk, white-tail, and mule deer (and several other species not found in ND). Which brings up the interesting twist here, would the baiting of pronghorn be allowed?

    Bismarck guy looking to learn

There should be some panfish in the Misty Waters Marina, or even Burnt Creek where it comes by Hoge Island. So there are places close to home for you. Another place I see fly fishing is out at McDowell Dam east of Bismarck a mere 6 miles, or so. You will find bluegill aplenty, LM bass, and...

auto inflatable life jackets -- do they need to worn to count

Yes, they are designed to be re-used. But like many things in life, it's all in how you fold'em.

    Used or new UTV

I have a 2014 Pioneer. Overall, I love the thing, especially when I compare it to the list of Polaris POS my parents have had over the same time. I'd have half the miles (and abuse) on mine if it wouldn't have constantly been pressed into service during calving season as the Polaris went on...

    Work from office or home?

Given the cost of office space, the State is just following the same lead as many large companies and the federal government by allowing certain workers to work remotely. As many have already pointed out, it's not so simple to figure out who is cut out for remote work. I find having the...

auto inflatable life jackets -- do they need to worn to count

And yes, I've stored mine in the boat and according to the indicator, it was fine even after a couple of years. I think I had to buy a recharge kit for it around year 3, the water-soluble trigger will eventually fall apart on the brand I have.

auto inflatable life jackets -- do they need to worn to count

Yes, the last time I read the regs it clearly stated they need to be worn to count. I've had and used them in the past. SInce we are all of different shapes and sizes, I would strongly recommend trying one on before deciding to buy. Their fit is different and may not be as comfortable as...

Oil wells converted to fresh water wells

I am not aware of any aquifer named after Lake Agassiz, what I am reasonably certain you are referring to is the Dakota Sandstone that daylights out in the Red River Valley. At one point the immense weight of the glaciers in that area reversed flow in the Dakota Sandstone (at least locally) and...

    Best dry cell batteries ?

I really dislike a lot of the off-brand batteries. They have a tendency to decompose/leak and wreck the battery compartment of things one doesn't use very often. So, if you need them to run wireless controllers for the kids' Xbox...fine. Otherwise I'd suggest staying away from them.

    The big diamond heist.

I've had this on my "must watch" list for a few weeks now and finally got around to it last night after the game (I recorded it a while back). Here's my take on it. 1. Very ingenious thieves! 2. The getaway driver and I would no longer be friends. 3. Pretty amazing they only served between...

    Best dry cell batteries ?

In the house I tend to run Duracell batteries (AA and AAA) for my remotes. Mostly because I just buy large packs of them at a time. I am guessing I change the batteries on my TV remotes about every 2 years.
