    Birds

About a week ago I spotted an osprey up at New John's Lake. You don't see an osprey in ND, but once in a while one pops up.

    Getting Ready for ICE FISHING

I kinda sensed you were not happy with Ranger outsourcing their trailers, but this may have taken it a step too far. - - - Updated - - - Note, if your niece can weld galvanized stuff, she's one up on me. I've only hit galvanized with an arc a time or two and it's a splatter fest.

    Birds

Living in the country, I have more dandelions than I can shake a stick at.

    Coal Creek

Most of central ND small lakes have a mercury problem. I'd suggest that most of that mercury is naturally occurring in the local sediments that has been freed via oxidation of the organic carbons in the local shale rock. Up around DL that would be either the Pierre or Niobrara shale (I forget...

    Birds

I miss the finches. I think the West Nile virus has clobbered the local finch population. 5-6 yrs ago I would have quite a few purple and gold finches, now my feeders sit unused.

    Coal Creek

When it came to suing ND over hunting, some of the biggest proponents of it were the small towns and residents within close driving distance of ND. I remember it quite well as it was while I lived in GF. I get what you're saying in that there's a big difference between rural MN and the Twin...

    Coal Creek

Anyone from MN that would care to discuss their state's antics towards ND, feel free to step up. 1. ND, after having seen too many rich Twin Cities hunters leasing sloughs in the flight path, implemented some NR waterfowl opportunities. I might add, the limits far exceeded the existing number...

    Coal Creek

That fucking piece of shit state known as Minnetucky has NEVER been a friend of North Dakota. Those cocksuckers can't even be good neighbors! Hell, I'm surprised the bastards didn't side with Hitler, Ho Chi Mihn, Saddam, and Osama when they learned there were North Dakotans heading off to war...

    Long Sleeve Fishing Shirts

Not a fan of hoodies. And while my dermatologist still suggests I change my lifestyle, I also dislike long-sleeved shirts even during winter. Are we officially done shooting people who wear hoodies? I don't remember getting the memo.

    murder hornet

That is a strange dude for sure. I couldn't help notice but he seemed to be wearing some boots in excess of what he probably needed for the actual hiking conditions. I wonder if he was afraid of running across a mamushi? I think it's the only venomous snake on the main Japanese islands...

    Boat battery question

Knowing you, you'd probably rather swim through freshly chummed and shark infested waters than accept help from a sconi. Not so sure I'd blame ya.

    murder hornet

Like we westerners have never put a worm in a bottle. Not saying I'm in the mood for a little hornet, but there are people across the world that think our eating habits are disgusting. I'm going to hazard a guess that we Americans would be in the minority on many things found in our cupboards...

    Boat battery question

As far as the battery itself, discharge it completely and recharge it correctly and it should be OK. I've seen people do it to regular starting batteries and had to reverse it. As far as the rest of your electronics, just cross your fingers and chase gremlins as you find them.

    Trolling motor upgrade

I've got an Ulterra that I like for the most part. That self deploy and store feature is AWESOME! The fugging compass is still the same piece of shit they've been using for years. It always wants to creep to the right. Waves, wind, and low battery increase the creep.

    Paddlefish season cancelled

Right?!?! While I am not a fisheries biologist, I have had issues with NDGF's management of paddlefish for years. We went from having a limit of a fish a day, to two fish per year, to one fish per year, to one fish per year and reduced fishing area (making it an even more congested...

    murder hornet

I had only seen a couple of them while in Japan and JayKay is right, they're a big nope.

Slow your ass down and pay attention!

I think the better question is why would someone boat in any floater on such a busy river without a means of letting other craft know your location in the dark?

Quite sure, it comes straight from the court filings.

    Keeping spirits/alchohol

Lycan, No need for grapes here. I get around 100 lbs of them a year in a good year. The birds get 2-3 times more than that.
