    Leaking Pole Barn Roof

Most of the time the fasteners are put into the ribs of the metal roofing as opposed to the valleys, that way if a single nail/screw leaks it isn't a heck of a lot of water that comes in. If it was coming in at a pretty good rate and the fasteners are indeed on the ribs, you need to look for...

    Tools on the boat

Truth is, since I bought a Lund powered by a Yamaha back in 2006, all I've needed for tools in my boat are jumpers and a Leatherman. The Leatherman has: 1. Cut the barb off a hook that the dog put in my finger. 2. Tightened screws that come loose when bouncing across a decent chop at WOT. 3...

    Predator proofing a chicken coop

Jersey Giants are a really good egg layer as well. Thankfully they are gentle giants. The Chinese Silky chickens are a very gentle/friendly little 5 toe freak (most chickens only have 4), but they lay small eggs. Ameraucana's are also good birds which lay blue eggs.

    This Weekend

I'll be heading out with the kids tonight to clean out some of those bigger fish before the tourney guys get a chance to make a buck off of them. Then it looks like I'll be out tomorrow and Sunday with just the dog.

    Predator proofing a chicken coop

You can boost egg production in the winter with a simple heat lamp. It's not the temps as much as it is the hours of light. One thing though is that eggs in the winter will freeze and crack, so around 60% of all my winter eggs go to waste.

    Salmon?

I'm guessing scattered up and down the Missouri itself. These salmon are young'uns, so they aren't here to spawn. They be looking for snacks. I'll be interested to see how many stick around the Missouri, like up in the tailrace area, vs heading back south for the summer.

    Salmon?

I've heard through the grapevine that there's a run on Atlantic after my initial catch. Maybe as many as 15 have been caught lately...

    Predator proofing a chicken coop

jdinny A good website your wife will enjoy is: https://www.backyardchickens.com/ Lots of decent reads on there and links to supplies. Shockingly, TSC and Runnings are pretty basic with regards to raising fowl. One thing you may be interested in is the installation of an automatic door for...

    Salmon?

You sir, are a solid member of a very vocal, but small and quite undistinguished group I have heard from on this. No scale needed, it's the only one. I'll cede the size record to the very next person who catches one. Because I am just that kind of guy. :;:cheers

    Salmon?

From what I gathered, SDGFP is hoping the Atlantic do a better job taking advantage of the gizzard shad in Lake Oahe.

    Tools on the boat

If you know your belongings are on the curb, I'd be suspicious of anything not factory sealed. Even then, I'd check the expiration date and your phone for known recalls.

    Tools on the boat

Ah yes, that would work better. I was thinking of hooking them up in series for 24V, the motor basically just JUMPS to life off of a 24V feed when I have had to use the cables. Breasts when running cranks, and drumsticks when livebaiting. Then again, if'n I was better at keeping a towel in...

    Tools on the boat

I initially read this and thought "what a great idea", and have now reconsidered. A couple years ago I had to have the charging system on my Yamaha 4S fixed. It turned out to be the rectifier/regulator. After doing a little reading on this I found out that one of the easiest ways to wreck your...

    Salmon?

heh heh heh, no...and I ain't taking your lie detector test either. - - - Updated - - - note, there are even fewer of them in the system than I earlier posted. The SDGFP fella that called said they stocked 4,000 of them in Lake Oahe. So it's not going to be easy to dethrone my record!

    Salmon?

Update: So I also sent this pic off to SDGFP and a fisheries guy I know over at NDGF. Both agree that it is indeed an Atlantic Salmon. SO there you have it, Vollmer...if you would please. Change the name of this thread to "new state record, version II". Not only am I the person with the...

    Salmon?

At one point, I believe they stocked coho salmon as well. Like way back in the 80s. Not sure when exactly, or why, that program ground to a halt.
