Years ago I molded some 148g hollow base wad cutters. I used wheel weights with no added antimony or tin, at 1000 fps. It made me chuckle when I smacked. a raccoon for the first time. It sounded like you had hit a 50lb sack of flower with a 2x4 as hard as you could. Much like the coyote I plugged in the back yard 20 minutes ago with a subsonic 190g Sub-X out of my 308.

A Lewis Lead Remover will pull the lead in two or three strokes. Maybe 15 if your shooting Ruger. My Rugers were to much of a pain to use lead, but the bore must be smoother in the Smiths because I coukd shoot three times the rounds and remove the lead in five minutes. When I go above 18 Brinell hardness the Smiths rarely get any lead. Those softer waddcutters were a no go in the Rugers.
