    Never raised them but take good care of the wild ones in the winter. Always plenty of feed and any varmit type critter has a bullseye painted on it.

    Interstate for me, replaced 4 years ago for less than 100$ per battery, group 29's and still going strong. Starter battery is still original and 9 years old. Battery life goes hand in hand in how many times you run them down and recharge and how you winter store them.

    HVAC question

    Just the wife and I, so also shut down the vents in basement all the time because we just use it for storage (junk stuff). Have an air exchanger so no problem with humidity.

    Last summer our central air unit went out. First time since house was built in 78. Air conditioner man had a used unit that I could get for cheep cept it was 3 times bigger than I needed. Works well, coffee will get cold if you take to long and cold drinks stay cold longer. and don't see much...

    I have one of those friends who absolutely cannot backup a pickup and boat trailer with out turning around in the seat and looking out the back window with the tailgate down. What the hell do they put mirrors on trucks for. And still take forever.

    Pulled my recliner up real close to my big screen, turned the volume way up and watched the Macy's fireworks for free. Worked for me.
