    Remington 700 in .308

    Have a Rem. 788 in 308 bought in 1972. Have shot a ton or 2 of deer with it, from 3ft to 550 yards, does the job quite well, ammo is reasonable and plentiful, recoil is within reason, just not a flat shooting gun.
