    Shame on you hunters

What really happened. SB 2315 passed the Senate. Three conservation orgs sent Sen. Erbele a letter supporting electronic posting. Sen. Erbele held the letter up as proof everyone was negotiating in good faith. Then the same three conservation orgs blew things up in the House totally opposing an...

    Shame on you hunters

Dammit Guy, I really don't care to get into this topic again. I do not facebbook therefore do not read Gabe. What I can share...…..if'n there is another trespass Bill, there will be no special exclusions or privileges for sportsmen. No amendments for apps or other side show rabbit holes. A very...

    Hmmmm?

Take your muddy boots off before you walk across someone's hard wood floor and try to not drive making more ruts. A little common sense goes a long way. 1lessdog, not sure why you thought it necessary to include me in this discussion?

    Ted Nugent on Baiting Deer

True....however NDG&F cannot do a Statewide blanket ban. Has to go through the legislature. NDG&F cannot introduce a Bill but do use their surrogates the ND wildlife federation and wildlife society to do that. These two orgs brought in some professional from "Michigan" to testify to their Bill...

    South Dakota giant poached

http://timberlakelodge.com/buffalo/ A buffalo is worth about $3000. Timber Lake charges three times that much for a "trophy buffalo hunt". I cannot recall the last time I witnessed someone getting their panties in a wad about it.

Ernie Fischer raises buffalo near where the NODAPL protests took place. He lost about 13 buffalo that were butchered. Theft plane and simple. No one "chuckled."

    South Dakota giant poached

I have been there and didn't really care for the terrain. The dirt is a sugar sand and will blow out in a hurry if tilled or over grazed. In 1998 their neighbors raised a bunch of kosha weed on some tilled ground (kosha loves that sugar sand) and then the kosha rolled up against the fence. A...

There were actually four government research facilities doing nutritional studies on mule deer. They had them housed with domestic sheep infected with scrapie. Is/was there a connection? No one will ever know. It was 1967. However, old timers from those endemic areas in Wyoming and Colorado do...

Dean Nelson submitted: Michael Osterholm became famous when he testified in front of the Minnesota Legislature and said, "zombie deer disease." He was seeking funds through a Legislative Bill from the Minnesota State General Fund for $1.8 million. To shake down the taxpayer for that kind of...

    Plenty wet over here.

You may want to expedite that fill up. Propane is used to dry wet grain. And then again maybe it won't be used. Wheat producers didn't use anything more than air movement driers because there is no sense buying propane for wheat as the crop is already deemed below milling quality. Most of the...

    MWA Dispanding after 52 years

Certain bloggers defend non-profits orgs as if their livelihoods depend on it. Who do you work for? I am a farmer/rancher and we have the same problem as the shooting sports. An aging population with the average age over 55 years old and not enough recruitment of young guys.

It's a theme. Probably not what a young hunter wants to join.

Exactly. A good indicator would be bird dog sales. No one in North Dakota raises English Setter Pointers. The last guy was Havelock Setters New England. Sales lagged and he retired. Guys under 50 years old are not buying. I don't follow duck dog sales but it would be interesting to know how...

    MWA Dispanding after 52 years

There are plenty of ducks. What is missing is todays youth who desire to lay in the mud. While non-profit Minnesota Waterfowl Association is disbanding another non-profit or Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is starting up recruiting those younger hikers, fern feelers and berry pickers.

    Burke County Wind Farm Denied

There has to be a long term plan drawn up in Board rooms. First, coal leases were quietly purchased in the 50's and 60's from sellers who didn't know a big project was coming their way. I mean..."the investors" were not going to alert the sellers. As the plan goes into motion ads and stories...

If you need a good laugh...

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. Beer required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for...

    ND State Fair--Boycott or support

Rick Springfield was very good and he did Minot a huge favor. Eddie Money got sick at the last second and Rick helped bring in Jefferson Starship and the Greg Kihn Band. I don't think Greg Kihn has a band anymore. His drummer and guitarists were borrowed from Rick Springfield. These performers...
