    Weasel

Yes, an ermine is another name for the stoat version of the weasel. I suppose not knowing the fine splitting of hairs that split the stoat from the least and/or long-tailed versions, I've always just referred to the white coloration as the ermine. Which is most likely incorrect to the purists...

Is it sad that I guessed who it was before I saw the VOA? Crap, I always felt much younger than you looked before now. :(

I wonder how they will get this out

eyexer has probably the best idea for undoing the dumb. I once had a friend who loaned his diesel 4x4 to an idiot. He got it stuck something like this. Then went and got a payloader. Yep, wrecked the frame getting it out of the RRV mud. Ouch... - - - Updated - - - Yeah, but you probably...

    Netflix and Amazon

Anything with Ginger Lynn in it would be on my watch list. Or Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, and Charles Bronson. But I don't do Netflix or amazon tv.

Just a funny story (wild animal encounter)

2400, That's a great story. Too damn funny. I used to know a fella that caught a rattlesnake and put it in his saddlebag. Some other emergency happened that day and he left his horse tied up only to have another guy do him a favor by unsaddling his horse. And since it was wet and muddy out...

Big kitty snared near Mcleod ND

I have suggested for several years that they consider allowing an "incidental catch" tag system for paddlefish in the Missouri below Garrison. No way, no how. They think people will stand around chucking rapalas intentionally targeting paddles. I've caught several paddles over the years by...

Just a funny story (wild animal encounter)

LOL, a couple years ago I had a whole family of coons try to get into my popup blind one evening. SOB's even knew I was in there.

    Pentagon ufo probe

I love watching that Neil de Grasse Tyson fella as well, he and a couple others have a real knack for explaining complex science to the layperson, much like Carl Sagan did years ago. Not a skill set that's common in good scientists. However, he can only form opinions on the science that we...

    lucky to be alive

After watching the video again, I gotta say that I'm not convinced that truck is stuck enough for me to walk. A shovel goes a long ways to unsticking a truck in snow. I guess I don't know what is on the far side of the pickup, but I've shoveled a metric crap-ton of snow in my day to unstick...

    NFL News (Vikings)

Lest we forget, the Vikes have already beaten half of the NFC teams left. And IMHO, they really threw up a stinker in Carolina so more than half if you include themselves. Not something I'd expect them to do again.

    lucky to be alive

Lucky fella, good for him. I don't go hunting or fishing unless I am dressed well enough to walk back home. Tires go flat, vehicles break down, diesel fuel gels, the hazards are damn near infinite.

    NFL News (Vikings)

Personally, I like the Viking's chances of winning the stupid bowl as much as any other team left playing. But to be the best, you're going to have to line up the best in the league and beat them. That's never an easy thing to do. For as they say in the NFL...on any given Sunday. Shiite...

Interesting ice formations found on farm south of Scranton, ND

No, not the same. One is a crystallization process (birdbath), hence the regular shape; the other is a depositional environment and creates the more artistic look. Interestingly, I've never seen the birdbath ice spikes before now.

    New Flooring

The only thing I will say with respect to hardwoods is to not go that route if you have active dogs. I put teak in a basement a number of years ago and the GSPs nails would leave grooves in the otherwise smooth finish. Not really scratch it, just leave long dings as they spun their wheels...

Interesting ice formations found on farm south of Scranton, ND

These are natural phenomena that you can find just about any year along some stream in ND. Basic premise is that there is a source of dissolved gas in the water below the ice. Whether this comes from biological decay (such as swamp gas in wetlands), or aeration of the water coming over a small...
