    Are you spreading CWD

KDM, You cannot begin to understand how tired of this I am also. In 1967 at those facilities in Wyoming and Colorado where they were doing nutritional studies, they housed deer together with sheep that were infected with Scrapie. Did it jump specie? Scrapie in sheep was a very serious issue...

    Are you spreading CWD

Plains said, Plains, you are too predictable. Accusing that the compensation at $10,0000 per animal would come from the taxpayers. What happened is this farm had not imported an animal in ten years. Completely self sufficient. It was two facilities, breeding part and hunting. The hunting part...

    Are you spreading CWD

Dean Nelson and KDM are correct. Wisconsin is an example of what can happen. The DNR targeted 3 counties where they went in to kill every deer. It wasn't a popular idea. Non-profits such as the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism cherry pick data from responsible researchers etc. and...

    Are you spreading CWD

Chronic Wasting Disease was first diagnosed in government pens doing nutritional studies for deer in 1967 at four facilities Wyoming and Colorado. Everybody knows that. Lesser known is that when the deer began dying they limed the pens and started over. Restocked it and the deer began dying...

Have you checked your mom's basement for radon gasses? The symptoms are trouble breathing as if you have been puffing on a hookah bowl all night.

Malheur Refuge Takeover Is a Wake-Up Call for American Sportsmen

My thoughts exactly. Buffalo Commons. She comes off as an idealist: It certainly sounds like she wants a huge healthy wild environment for North Dakota. One problem....It first takes a healthy economic environment or else we won't have the luxury/money to take care of the environment. This...

Malheur Refuge Takeover Is a Wake-Up Call for American Sportsmen

Bob Marshall is an advocate of the Land Water Conservation Fund whereby oil lease money from the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf is diverted from the US General Fund into the LWCF. The money is used to buy private land and convert it to public land. Bob Marshall wants more federal land...

    Geese

You're right. Most of the big B-52's are not here yet. Quite a few 8 lb. prairie cacklers still here. We are on the south side of lake sak and west side of river. Doing well considering the nice sun shiny days.

    Toby and the Infamous Ban-Hammer!!!

Please don't make reference to Plainsman. That is an invitation for him to nose his way in here under the pretext others are talking about him. Visited with my local game warden couple days ago and we both agreed nodakangler looks great.

    Turkeys destroy pheasant nests.

    Snows

I almost froze to death this morning. -2 not counting wind. We didn't have much to shoot at. The dark geese landed a little east of where they were supposed to be. A handful of snows landed by the road and one pick-up stopped and popped. They got one. Good on them.

    Snows

Yep, they were feeding in corn right beside the roost. When they lifted off Audubon, they circled over the water a couple times to get altitude over the firing line. Flew 1/2 mile south and circled several times coming down. Smart buggers. The dark geese migrants are starting to use Lake...

    Snows

Pheasant opened up Monday on Audubon. It was very good. We got game checked and struck up a conversation with the warden. Asked him about the snow geese. He said they had about a 5% hatch and the adults were not decoying at all. At one spot they were right beside the road. Very tempting to do...
