    yep - Hay Creek east Bismarck. My brothers and I were draining the creek and channelizing it in mid 70s. One the size you described walked out of a drained section. Amazing beasts - wonder how old. Saw one maybe bigger in a creek hunting out by Center.

    Ha ha! I had an Uncle or two in the 70s who showed me how to drag BBs in the hot sun for 8 hours with no fish. Maybe that influenced my attitude?

    Thanks - you guys inspired me. I took the cable clamp off, drilled a 1/4" hole in the ball for a stainless screw, and fastened an original Quick Fist clamp. I think it's going to work great - plus I gain another inch of shaft. Hee hee.

    I have considered piping the underwater camera to google glasses many times - never seriously wouldn't that be neat - cruising and using your map/finder, looking at weed beds, etc. all the while seeing what's under the boat? biggest pain for cameras is keeping your bearings - information overload!
