    I've had a handheld model (Uniden?) for 10 years. The battery lasts for more than a year between recharges. Nice "insurance" I guess. Hope I never have to use it. Weather info I get on it used to be really handy before cell phones.

    About a month ago they overcharged me for c-clips ($6 each) and high shipping, billed my CC number, and a month later hadn't shipped them. I called them and they said "oh, sorry, nobody sent them out". I was trying to avoid going back to the tainted well with a bitter taste in my mouth.
