    Mice…

This! There are some great tutorials online. I've set one up at my folks' place, and you can literally catch dozens in a night.

    Winnipeg 2018-19

Friends got vaccinated so they could hunt ducks and geese up yonder. Had a blast. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

    New To Hunting Help Appreciated!

Sounds like you're TRYING to get zapped. WTF spurred this outburst?

    Rooster Time!

I can't get too excited for ditch parrots until after deer season. Then there's nothing else to do except chase them around. Still plenty of crops up. Should get really good in a few weeks.

Favorite Gun in your safe thread

Hands down, my favorite is my Benelli M2 12 gauge. You know how your favorite pair of jeans fits just right, or the comfort of a well broke-in baseball mitt? That's what that M2 is like for me. It just -- fits. And it works! Goes bang every time and is stupid easy to strip down and clean. Light...

    Is it worth anything?

Here they are! They seem dry. I actually put some in a little pile and lit it and it went right up. So I think they're plenty "active."

    Is it worth anything?

I have two containers of gun powder. When my grandpa passed away, the relatives gave me a bunch of his old hunting and shooting stuff. It's sitting in my basement, and other than the containers (which are pretty cool looking) I have no use for the powder. Is it worth trying to sell (or safe to...

    Ode to my Remy

The final installment (my great aunt painted the picture): I should have had something profound to say. After all, for the past 11 years we'd been tied at the hip. He was my first dog -- my first "best boy" -- and for over a decade he'd been in the center of my life. And yet, walking down a...

    waterfowl blind....NOT layout

You'd think so, but I've had way better luck just throwing a panel blind in the middle of a field then trying to blend in with the edges. It's super counter intuitive, but it works.

    Ode to my Remy

Part 5 (last one tomorrow) Our Remy passed peacefully at Prairie Winds Vet center in Fargo on May 26, 2021. Remy made it 11 years and almost a week, much sooner than I'd hoped. I think that goes with all dogs -- they burn bright and fade out far too soon. It's not like we didn't know something...

    Ode to my Remy

PART 4: To top it off, Erin was very pregnant with our first child, and due shortly after Remy and I were to be back from Ohio. I had full support from my wife, and she was integral in everything. As luck would have it, Nolan came early, which meant we had our first child and then, 10 days...

    Ode to my Remy

We gave Jeff the down payment, and made arrangements to pick up Remy after a family vacation in July. When we got him, our first re-visit witnessed him in a straw-lined kennel, crazily chewing on a chair that was in there with him. "Oh boy," Erin said. "What did we get ourselves into?" I could...

    Ode to my Remy

Day 2, Part 2: Now, at this point, Erin will tell you I'd already planned on getting a pup. Her ONLY evidence is that I brought along a checkbook for a down payment. I, on the other hand, will tell you I brought the check book JUST IN CASE, and it just so happened Remy was there. The puppies...

    Ode to my Remy

Not a lot of folks know out of my circle, however my first "best boy" Remy passed away this summer. Fast forward, and a relative offered to paint a picture in honor of his memory. I wrote a little ditty to go along with it. Believe she's turning it into a 4-part series? Anyway, here's Part 1...

    New Tundra Accessory Recs

I was getting about 10 mpg in town with the F150. So far I'm averaging 12-13 with the Tundra. It's a V8 pickup. I'm not buying it for the gas mileage. That's why I went with the 38 gallon tank ;)

    New Tundra Accessory Recs

Makes sense. I had a tonneau when I first got my F150 but swapped it for a hard topper about a year later. Don't plan on having two dogs any time soon again, so figure the tonneau is OK for the short-term. I'm going to drive this bastard into the ground. I got a Toyota because I hear they're...

    New Tundra Accessory Recs

Other than being almost double the price, what's the big difference in the Original Access cover and Tonnosport Access cover?

    New Tundra Accessory Recs

I was faced with sinking $4k into an 11 year old F150, or finding something new. Decided to get a 2021 Toyota Tundra SR5 and love it. Has the 5.5 ft bed. Want to for sure add a tonneau cover before winter and need running boards. I know little about aftermarket accessories. Anything specific...

    Rain.

Gettin' a reeeeal nice soak this AM in Fargo. Slow, steady rain. My yard is actually getting green again. Who knows, might need to mow before too long!

    Fixed vs Mechanical Broadheads

I shoot both. Muzzy 3-blade 100 grain fixed, and some 100 grain 3-blad Rage mechanicals. I've had deer go less than 20 yards with both setups, so it definitely is more the "Indian than the arrow" in my case. If I put it where it needs to go, deer die.
