Leaving for Red in the morning...truck just decided to piss purple fluid everywhere

You guys were right! Found the powers steering fluid reservoir. Funny thing is it's full. Hmm...

I have never seen that reservoir before. I hope it's just hiding in plain sight...

Leaving for Red in the morning...truck just decided to piss purple fluid everywhere

The more I think about it, this happened before when it got really cold. About three years ago, it started leaking fluid and I brought it to the dealership. It was still under warranty, but they said a power steering hose blew because of the extreme cold. And it may just have happened again...

Leaving for Red in the morning...truck just decided to piss purple fluid everywhere

Anything just about. I've been in newspapers. Nonprofits. Marketing. I write. I edit. I freelance articles for outdoor magazines. But I'll clean toilets if that's what it takes.

Leaving for Red in the morning...truck just decided to piss purple fluid everywhere

I haven't had a warranty in 25,000 miles. But good thought.

Leaving for Red in the morning...truck just decided to piss purple fluid everywhere

When it rains, it friggin' pours. Lost my job last week. Littlest kid got her first cold. Spread it to everyone. Finally on the mend and my galdurn F150 decided to spring a leak and piss purple/maroon fluid all over hell. I think it's my power steering as the sound definitely gets worse when I...

Hunting land for sale $376 dollars per acre

This is going to be a NIGHTMARE for farmers, ranchers and landowners. Just ask the folks in southern Oregon and Northern California that work the Klamath Basin what fun it is to make a living with endangered species in the mix. I feel for you, GST.

Stuck out on Alice. Get rid of the vex!

IN all fairness, he did have his phone. The problem was it got so cold that it died.

    Picky Eaters

I'm with you. I remember being so god-awful full I felt sick sometimes because of that rule. My kids need to try everything, but they don't have to eat everything. And if they don't finish supper, plastic wrap goes on the plate and they get to eat it later in the evening when they're inevitably...

    Puzzled, twice.

Some sort of cold-water algae bloom? Or on the other end, results of vegetative die-off from a cold-snap? No clue. I'm not a real aquatic science professional...just the armchair variety.

    Picky Eaters

Same here. Our kids get what they're served and if they don't want what's in front of them, tough. We encourage them to be "tasters" and get pretty excited when they at least try everything on their plates. I don't want to force them to eat, but I absolutely can't stand whiny, snotty little kids...

Red River- Ice Fishing Fargo area

STORY TIME!! Buddy and I about, oh, 8-9 years ago were fishing our favorite eye/sauger ice spot north of GF. I believe it was end of February (might have been March...spring was definitely coming up hot). Warmer day, but the ice was still plenty thick and were were chomping at the bit to get...

    Picky Eaters

The pike cleaning thread got me thinking about this: Are you a picky eater? I'm continually surprised by the amount of grown individuals who are exceedingly picky about what they eat (allergies notwithstanding). When I was raised, there was one four-letter word that my mother hated above all...

The RIGHT way to clean pike

You're not wrong, KDM! - - - Updated - - - I've never tried that but will now. Thanks for the tip. In the meantime, I've found newspaper to be a pretty good absorber of slime. It's about the one good use for it these days.

Yeah it was steady. The hardest part is actually hooking them. They are almost better than perch at picking a jig clean without getting hooked.

The RIGHT way to clean pike

I can take cold-water pike, clean it this way, throw it in with walleyes in the fry pan and absolutely guarantee you won't be able to tell the difference. Cooked up they all turn flaky white and delicious.

Red River- Ice Fishing Fargo area

Way too early yet. When I tried fishing the Red, it was late January and it was only after we'd had a ton of cold for a long time. I tried by the Convent Landing off 52nd Ave. Didn't go near the bridge because the current gets sketchy over there. Went north a ways until I was sick of walking...
