    That is silly. Hunting is about comaradarie and getting out of the house. And you could have applied for unit right next to Bismarck. I guess weather it has horns or not I like to be proactive and hunt in ND. Who knows, maybe I'll get denied and this will be my first year without a rifle deer...

    I would think most people that apply for the leftover doe tags would get drawn and not denied. When you think of 50,000 people that were denied first choice that 2,000 or so doe tags would go quick, but that usually isn't the case.

    170 is too much cooking for summer sausage KDM. 155 is where you need to be. Don't risk overcooking and drying out summer sausage getting it that hot, especially if it isn't shocked with ice water to stop the cooking.

    50% fat is high. I try to keep my ratio closer to 70/30 or so. Sometimes maybe even 80/20. Unless we get a whole pig I use Boston butts. They are about a 75/25 ratio of meat to fat content. Often I'll mix half that and half wild game and then get some ribeye or sirloin fat for free from a...
