    Pouch Point Boat Landing?

Update - The landing is fine, plenty deep enough at the actual launch. There is a shallow spot as you head out of the bay but no issues and if water drops more just need to stay closer to the north shore as it is pretty deep. Fishing was so-so. Lots of boats for middle of the week.

    Pouch Point Boat Landing?

Hello Was going to head out to western side of Sak tomorrow and try around Pouch. Does anyone know if the landing is accessible? Haven't been there yet this year, assume it is but would appreciate any notice before making the drive south from New Town. Thanks

    Mobridge Area Guide?

Hello - Ended up going with Oahe Wings and Walleyes and fished with Chad. He was a great guide, very pleasant personality, was great with my family, put us on fish, showed me new techniques, an all around great guide. Shonda was great at getting us information and was overall very helpful in...

    Mobridge Area Guide?

Hello - A friend from out of state will be visiting the Mobridge area and is interested in doing a 1 or 2 day fishing trip. His desired focus would be walleye but smallmouth, crappie, or other would be fine. I have zero experience in this part of the system and appreciate any recommendations...

    epilepsy in dogs

He was having 1-2/mo and they were bad, lasted all night with sever bouts, very violent. There was a period of 1-2 years he didn't have any and then they started to get worse again and we couldn't get it figured out. He lived with these for about 6 years. Given your dog is only 10 months...

    epilepsy in dogs

Sorry to hear. I had a Vizsla that had violent seizures for years. We had them under control for a while but he would still have breakthroughs every couple of months. Had a drug cocktail of phenobarbital (pill) and potassium bromide. Most just need the pheno but he needed both. As for...

    Alkali/Etta?

Hello - How have Alkali and Etta faired the past couple of years for northerns? One winter they seemed to winter kill a bit but northerns always seem to find a way to survive and repopulate quickly. Any one been out there this winter?

    Steak Time!

40 Steakhouse in Bismarck dry ages their own steaks. It is fun to visit their salt cave with a scotch in hand and have them describe the process. I have had one, it was very good (and I didn't pay for it either so it was much better that way!).

    Moosey

Agree, the website was a bit confusing. They were very responsive with any questions I had, so ask away with specifics, but here are my answers to your questions. I think the confusion comes in where most of their business is fishing and for fishing they provide a cabin and boat. You...

    Moosey

Guy - I went on a guided moose hunt in Manitoba this year and had been looking for some time. Things that I considered were: Do I get the meat? Some places have what sound like great hunts but a large portion or nearly all is required to be donated to locals. Do I have to pay $$$ to fly the...

    Jackson's Lodge, Manitoba?

Hello - Thought I would provide feedback on our recent trip. In short, it was GREAT. We were tentatively planning a trip in 2021 but they had a cancelation this fall and we took the opportunity. First class operation. Great guides, great accommodations, great meals, great hunting, great...

The "Final" SB 2315 - Worst of Both Worlds

I am both a hunter and a family member with land in ND (that most is NOT posted) and other states. While I do not see the value in this legislation for either the landowner or hunter - will not stop poaching, gates left open, trespassing, etc - I also do not see how this should ruin our hunting...

Deer Rifle Recommendtions for 12-year-old daughter

My daughters were both smaller framed. I purchased them a youth Remington 243. The short LOP, barrel, etc. was much appreciated by them for ease in use. It is not overly light in weight so recoil was very minimal. Agree on don't go with light weight gun, often punishing in about any caliber...

    Jackson's Lodge, Manitoba?

Hello - Looking at doing a moose hunt in next couple of years and noticed Jackson's Lodge will be at Fargo Sport Show. Has anyone gone through them for fishing, moose hunting, bear hunting, etc? Any personal experience and input appreciated.

    Flying with frozen meat?

I fly about weekly and if you go through with it in carry on you have a 99% chance of needing to unpack any "food" items going through security. If the walleye are frozen in ice, they may not let through as carry on. No issues as checked luggage.
