    Winnipeg

I fished January 21-22 and February 18-19. First trip found tons of fish but struggled to get them to bite. Second trip was the opposite, struggled to find fish but when we did they were fairly cooperative. Lots of bait and lots of suspended fish both trips. most of the fish we caught both trips...

    Work from office or home?

I've done both and I will be honest and admit I am much more productive in the office. I like the structure and it also helps to keep my work life and home life separate. For me, there are just too many distractions at home to stay motivated. I do know some who work from home and it works great...

auto inflatable life jackets -- do they need to worn to count

They are comfy once you get used to them. There have been plenty of times were I forgot I had it on until I jump in my truck to go load the boat. I had one deploy during a hot/humid week when I left it in the boat which was covered. Also had one deploy when I was a dipshit and speared a huge...

we tried live minnows on dead sticks in a very target rich environment and not even a bite. Hopefully the bite improves later in the season.

    Winnipeg

fished all day Saturday and Sunday morning east of the mouth. Found plenty of fish but they were tight-lipped. Spoons and rattle baits were about even. Most of what we did catch was 18-22". Biggest was only 23". Fished 12-25'. Tons of suspended fish.

    Winnipeg

I've been up there many times (heading there this weekend) but have never used a guide. Blackwater cats is probably the most popular. For the most part he is a tag-along service. You use your own truck and follow him and his network of guides around. If lake travel is really difficult I think he...

    New Boots

I'm not sure that they make 1/2 sizes. I think a 12 would work just fine. Lots of places have free shipping if ordering online. Order a 12 and a 13 and return one. I think I ended up ordering 3 different sizes until I found one that fits. As others have mentioned, they are a great for sitting...

    Electric Ice Auger Recommendations

I think I'm on m 4th season with the 40v SM. I was very sceptical giving up the gas auger since I fish lake winnipeg fequently and the ice gets very thick up there. I have been very impressed with it! If you fish a lot of dirty ice you will go through some blades though. I also have a...

    10/22 Stuff

Mostly true. There are some autos that will cycle them reliably. Remington 552 and 550-1 will cycle shorts. I have both rifles. 552 is prettier but 550-1 shoots better IMO.

I have a bunch of different 22 rifles but didnt have a 10/22 until a couple years ago. Nice rifle and shoots fine just not that exciting for me. I'm partial to tube fed rimfires.
