    I haven't bought a new reel for myself in many years. I'm not saying I'm CORRECT. I know of this "feeling" and have brought it back with my expert technique. Garcias, Quantams and my one precious '96 Bantam Curado.

    This kind of stuff makes me question my namesake and I don't like it. You're essentially saying IMHO, the 7Rem is redundant and can be surpassed in an '08 case. This is much un-cool.

    Keep a strip of E-tape over the muzzle along with an empty shotgun shell box on the floorboard. This works fine. I guess one could become more sophisticated with a film canister, etc.

    Rinse under sink, RemOil, maybe/sometimes a field stripping and dab of Hoppe's grease. Use the RemOil as both cleaner and lubricant.
