    Boat Cover

Lots of good advice here for high-dollar custom covers, but what is second best? My boat is getting kicked out of the garage in favor of a Camaro, so it needs a better cover. It's 18 years old, and wasn't an expensive boat when it was new, so I can't justify a $1200 cover for it. Anything...

ATF early morning raid 1 dead

I wouldn't count on that. They're only as "good" as the orders they're given. See 'Covid Tyranny' for reference.

ATF early morning raid 1 dead

Or really any old time. There are zero reasons to do this 'no knock' middle of the night crap. How it's even 'legal' is beyond me. A few states have outlawed them. We need to add ND to that list. Sadly, it usually takes a state-sponsored murder (or several) to incite action.

ATF early morning raid 1 dead

When they do this, it's because they want to murder the suspect. They knew he'd be armed, and they'd have an excuse to murder him. Law enforcement is not here to help.

    Herd reduction deer tags.

I don't know... seems like if your arrow ends up in someone else's yard, you're screwing up. Children should not have to live in fear of arrant arrows. But I also agree that the law doesn't need to be involved just yet. That should be the backup plan in case a level-headed man-to-man talk...

    Tree row rehabilitation?

They're about the same difference. RMJ are supposed to be a little more drought tolerant, but don't get quite as big. I've planted them interchangeably at the farm. I agree with adding a new row (or several :) ) alongside the existing rows, and spring for the weed barrier fabric. Yes...

    Project ideas for a 13yo

It's pretty much done. We rolled it outside the other day using two galvanized conduit pipes. It just made it under the 8 ft overhead door. Probably going to put another coat of Deckover on it. 1 gallon made it, but it's a bit thin in some spots. The blue on the windows is just the...

    17 cal vs 22 mag

I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting another rifle, but what is the use-case here? Sounds like you have a capable 223. Are you just wanting something quieter for more chances at closer pdogs? 22 Mag is kind of the "308" of magnum rimfires. It's not the newest or flattest shooting, but it...

    long range rifles?

So, I think you got this, but just to be clear, when we say "700 footprint" or "700-based", we're not talking about actual Remington 700 actions, but custom actions that are compatible with Remington 700 stocks, triggers, etc. Some examples include those from American Rifle Company, Zermatt...

    long range rifles?

Hopefully you shoot right-handed. Us lefties have much fewer options, which is how I ended up with these: Desert Tech SRS A-1 I have two barrels for it: Benchmark 6.5 Creed, and K&P 7mm Rem Mag. Everything else is factory DTA stuff. Mutt AR-10  Yes, you can shoot long range with an AR...

    long range rifles?

Man... there are so many options, it's not even funny. You can get there with a million different combinations. Best I can do is offer some guidance: - Go custom. Factory rifles are better than ever, but you'll still end up replacing stuff. Do it right from the start. Look at Rem 700...

    Project ideas for a 13yo

I'm going to get Elevator brackets (the real ones, not the 1/2 price Chinese knock offs) and 4x4s to elevate it 6 to 8 feet. What do you tower blind guys do to anchor them? - I was thinking big-time earth anchors, steel cable, and turnbuckles, but am open to ideas.

I used liquid nails to glue the 3/4" plywood floor to the 2x6 joists, along with many screws. I also calked every seam. I would be surprised if it ever squeaks.

Well, I did grow up on a farm, so I'm marginally adequate at just about everything.
