    Baltimore bridge collapse

They were dead stick for a long time before they hit. It sounds like the smoke you see was the emergency generator kicking on, not main power. They were full rudder well before they got to the bridge. Did the anchor contribute? Who knows. But they were trying to stop or avoid for a long...

AZ Big Game Lotteries No More

I’ll be curious if raffles can replace the dollars lost? I guess if a guy wants to buy thousands of tickets to increase their odds more power to them.

AZ Big Game Lotteries No More

It’s about perception. I hate to say it but that is real today. Everything you said is correct. Tags prices go up. Conservation dollars go down. They made a choice because they felt the auction tags looked bad and chose to take a different route. They’ll deal with the consequences. If...

AZ Big Game Lotteries No More

There has to be a balance. The money is great and impacts many sportsmen. But as earlier stated, the “hunt” really isn’t one with these tags. The buyer just spends enough money to effectively cage an animal in. Is that the intent of hunting a trophy animal? Not for me. That’s why they did it.

    Spring snows 24

Sounds like it will be muddy. The last hunt I was on before I sold my snow stuff was similar. Layed in my waders in 3” of melting snow and mud. Fun fun. They will be piling back south soon.

    Tree row rehabilitation?

Thanks for the ideas and help! I have about 40 acres that I hope to convert fully in the next 10 years. Add on to the existing rows as stated with about 8 rows wide. Polinator plot, another 20 of grass and some foot plots. That isn't immediate though. The other areas I want to do aren't...

    Tree row rehabilitation?

Thoughts on Rocky Mountain Junipers over E. Red Cedars? Buffaloberry, Skunkbush Sumac, or Caragana?

    Tree row rehabilitation?

Elm trees. We have seen very little regrow from broken or cut trees unfortunately.

    Tree row rehabilitation?

I have a quarter of ground in the family that is one of our main upland hunting opportunities. It's got an old farmstead on it, about 20 acres of CRP, a 5 row tree strip planted 10 years ago. The remainder is cropland with (6) 1/2 mile long single tree rows. These are Soil Bank era rows that...

    Boating Access of the Future?

There’s a few here and there that don’t. But basically the entire Missouri River, minus a few marinas, require a state parks pass. Some lakes in the east with basic docks don’t. But everything I fish I need a pass. The SD model is just a lot different. There are far more state campgrounds...

    Boating Access of the Future?

In SD I pay a park pass that I need to access probably 75% of the ramps. Indian Creek, Shaw Creek, Pollock all require a day pass or year pass. It’s $25 I have no issue paying. The facilities are generally well kept which helps. They put the money back into improvements so I have no...

    O Central ND PPR area.

Anyone comment on fat south central ND and ice conditions? Curious if there will be any ice good enough to fish this weekend?

    Sakakawea Lake Level

The March study is even worse. 1584 lower basic for Oahe. Need some big storms in the next two months!

    Boats seats

I prefer regular seats. Brother in law has them and to me they get uncomfortable much quicker than regular seats. And they are hard edges all around, not real forgiving when maneuvering around the boat.

    Wyoming Mule Deer winter kill

Keep in mind that is the loss that occurred to the herd in the Wyoming Range. Statewide losses were high, but not 2/3rd statewide. If you traveled across WY last winter you know how bad it was. How anything survived is incredible in some places. But mule deer keep losing ground all across...

    Snowpocalypse

For our area the GFS and Euro are pretty well aligned of late. At least to the timeline the Euro goes out. Yellowstone area has good snow coming but the rest of the Missouri River basin is pretty dry.

    Snowpocalypse

And the next run shows barely anything in the same timeframe. Pretty bleak for moisture it looks like.

    Snowpocalypse

The GFS has had storms for us late in the run all winter. But they never pan out. One of these days one will. We need it.
