[QUOTE="huffranger, post: 300175, member: 305"] Imagine two 75# paddle fish tied together by the balls in a 10mph tide swing !! Salmon fight like salmon, trout like trout, sheefish, char, grayling, same.... Halibut fight like halibut ! Anybody that compares a halibut fight to reeling in a barn door could be describing a very small part of the fight but no way shape or form is that describe how a halibut fights. I’ve seen them pull a 100’ of line off a reel and wrap around the anchor rope in 250 FOW , right Dirty Mike ? I’ve seen a halibut so big get hooked that for 5 minutes he couldn’t be pulled off the bottom until the fish tore the hook out of his face, right Uncle Jimbo ? I bet Sluggo could tell you about the Predator and Captain Will, big halibut legend in Seward. I have been fishing for halibut every year since 1996, and every year I see something different and awesome. And I’ll be back out next year bouncing a 16 or 28 ounce Snooty on the bottom of the gulf of Alaska hoping for a fish bigger than 150#s Forgot to mention, the reels are spooled with 300# braid for a good reason.
