Winged a bird and it ran into three tree rows. The dogs were on it but couldn't find it. Old Sport walked away. I stepped into some grass they hadn't noised into yet and it popped out running. </p><p></p><p>Chip didn't see it go. I pointed to the ground in the direction it ran, and he took off following his nose. He was way out in an alfalfa field then went on point. The rooster jumped up and the dog had to tackle it. A dog's Gravy Train. </p><p></p><p>On opening day he lost two birds because he didn't know how to track. He is figuring things out fast. </p><p></p><p>He held the bird but doesn't retrieve yet. We are working on that. He likes to retrieve a wing tied to a stick and string.</p></blockquote><p></p>
