Message: <blockquote data-quote="Wildyote" data-source="post: 102171" data-attributes="member: 2259"><p>I agree totally.  I have heard this same line from my father and some of his friends.  More barrels have been screwed up by cleaning than by shooting.  I have years where I shoot over 15 thousand rounds and most of my rifles get cleaned when then start loosing accuracy most of the time 500 -600 rounds.  I have some barrels that have well over 12,000 rounds through and are still shooting 1/2 groups.  I think barrel cleaning is a waste of ammo too.  I have a Ruger M77 22-250 varmit that have seen close to 15,000 rounds and is still shooting 3/8 of an inch with a throat that vanished years ago.  If I clean that gun it takes at least 25 rounds to fill the spider cracks with copper so it will shoot again!</p></blockquote><p></p>
