Any youth hunter stories?

Haven't seen anything on the youngsters being successful. My young man in the wheelchair is hunting this weekend, so I kind of have the bug to see what the other youth hunters have done. Post'em up if you want. Thanks from an old grey beard!!

Wasnt sure if I had shared these or not. Briggs shot his 1st 2 ducks last weekend. He hit both in 1 shot at 40 yards. He is still getting used to shooting left handed(he is right handed and left eye dominate), so he is pretty slow on the draw. Hitting the 2 at 40 yards with a single shot .410 has convinced me switching him was the right decison. I told him "I couldn't have made that shot if I tried!"....But he would would rather fish if he had the choice. My daughter Emery is the hunter and can not wait to shoot her 1st duck with her "baby" gun. I included a pic of her hunting doves in the yard.

I got both of my kids that are old enough to hunt out this weekend. My son started the weekend off with a bang Friday evening about 7:30 putting the smack down on this real good buck that decided to come running straight at the spot we were setup sitting. Saw him and two other bucks running almost straight at us about 200 yards away and luckily this guy stopped and gave my son a perfect shot at him. As soon as he stopped my son almost immediately fed him the lead, he took off and rolled end over end 50 yards later. It’s was 100% reaction with no time for buck fever to set in. My words to him as we were both in disbelief after he rolled were “you just killed a big basterd”. We celebrated together which is a moment I’ll never ever forget. Special stuff!! We dropped him off at the taxidermist Saturday together.

Sunday evening me and my son both took my daughter out to sit for her doe. The evening started slow with very little deer movement but shortly after they started moving a couple bigger does started chasing each other around and came into range. They both stopped at 175 yards and the bigger one gave my daughter a perfect broadside opportunity. She put a great high vitals shot on her and she went straight down. Being her first animal she’s ever taken it was a special moment and her brother beamed with pride in his little sister!! All time weekend in our household!!! Good luck to the youth that still have tags to fill! Didn’t get any field pics with hers tagged but I assure you it got tagged.
