Just watched this last night, separate from your post ironically. The guy puts on a master class in efficiently getting every last bite off a bluegill. He's not wrong - the fins are the best part!
I don't know if I could bring myself to it. I have an uncle who says the fins taste like potato chips. I was glad he affirmed my opinion of eating LMB. C/R has become a religion.
I was the same way - until I decided to try it. Well, I was wrong. Taste/texture just like homemade potato chips.....I don't eat gills this way often, but once in awhile I get a hankering.
