Just purchased the 2017 clam stealth thermal voyager ice shelter and it has this plastic pouch that’s about 2ft long on the outside off to the right of the door and I can’t figure out what the hell its used for. I haven’t had any luck online or in the owners manual. I’ll attach a pic of the shelter to get yalls opinion. Thanks in advance! 3CFBA00B-7E35-4B6E-B515-7A3E48DC59CE.jpg

I am wondering if certain states may require a name or address? You would put it on paper and slide into the pouch, without any kind of permanent damage to the house?

Owner identification only required if you were to leave it on the ice unoccupied (aka overnight).

Fish Houses

Licensing of fish houses is not required in North Dakota. However, any unoccupied fish house must have displayed on its outside in readily distinguishable characters at least three inches high, an equipment registration number or the owner's name and address or the owner's name and telephone number. Any unoccupied fish house left on the ice without having this proper identification may be removed or destroyed by the Department, and its owner is guilty of a class 2 noncriminal offense.

Any structure used as a fish house or darkhouse (to include campers) that is required to have the owner's name and address or telephone number inscribed on it, shall be constructed of material that will allow it to float and be readily removable from the ice at any time.

Yup, just in case you fill your shorts in the ice house you can put them in the outside pouch to
air them out. Comes in pretty handy.

Yep. That is exactly what it's for. When I was going to school in fargo i did some ice fishing out by DL, DNR came by and wrote me up because i didn't have any information on the outside of my house. I guess in MN it is the law that you have your licence number and home city listed externally on all fish houses, permanent or not.

That was several years ago so things could've changes by now.
