Fished Grano this morning. It was a beautiful morning, no wind, temps 20-26. Caught two small northerns on smelt. Fished about 10-18 fow. Marked a bunch of smaller fish early in the morning. ndfinfan was there and pulled a 14" eye through the ice.

Was a nice morning...more fish would have been nice but weather was great. Wasn't too bad walking out thru the snow...just gotta pick your spots and watch your step! Buddy and I thinking about heading to Audubon tomorrow...go off at Totten Trail ramp.

drove to beulah for work today and there were a lot of permanents out at totten trail ramp.

Fished the south side just off the channel in about 14 fow.

I went for a drive up to Darling today. Didn't see anyone at all or any type of dwelling on the ice.Probably a good thing to give this lake a rest over the winter anyway, or maybe it will just winterkill anyhow. The gate is open at access #3 trail but there is too much snow on trail as well as the lake to even attempt to drive on it. It'll be interesting to see how the fishing derby plays out next weekend.

Red - I fished Grano yesterday with a buddy from 2 to 6...fish turned on about 4:30...caught 4 eyes, biggest was only 14.

ndfinfan - Darling hasn't "turned on" for a few years now. Maybe we should have implemented a 10" size limit on perch a few yrs ago. I didn't venture up north to the Grano area and was just interested in seeing what access will be like on the south end for the derby next weekend. Is anyone driving on ice? I won't be pulling the permanent to the lake this winter, and by the looks of it neither will anyone else.

Fished the Darling derby on Sat. Didn't get a bite. Very nice day. A lot of vehicles driving on ice all over, but very easy to get stuck if your not careful. There were some northern n walleyes caught but only 2 perch weighed in.

Fished Grano tonight. The bite was slow. Pulled in a 30" northern. Also heard a young boy a few ice houses down holler that he caught a walleye. Beautiful evening regardless, 30 degrees with no wind.

Weather was nice yesterday razor...I'm gonna run down to Sak this afternoon...probably try Garrison Bay at Stevenson. You going out today?

The 17-18 ice fishing season is here, I hit landing #2 this morning with great success got there at 7 left by 8 the fish were quick to hit ice was about 5-6 inches thick

Nice BMP...hopefully we don't lose any ice this week. Buddy and I thinking about trying Grano Saturday morning. Anyone fishing further south by the Spillway ramp?

I was on the ice yesterday afternoon at Crimmins WPA. 3-4" thick, but as I worked my way out into the bigger portions of the lake the ice got very sketchy. Hate to see what this warm weather does.

No doubt BRK. Saturday Nelson Bay was 4-5 solid...no issues. With temps this week tho, might get a little sketchy. Kinda thinking Darling and north may be a better option this coming weekend. Seems like projected overnight lows for the north central part of the state are 8-10 degrees cooler than central and southern parts. After work Friday gonna run up to Darling...do a quick ice check to see how she held up this week.
