Ive always been a fan of the Petzl headlamps. Had one for about 10 years before i dropped it down an ice hole, replaced it with a different brand and that one broke within a year or two. I'm back to petzl and its amazing how much brighter they are these days with the advancement in LED.

I'm a big fan of the Bushnell one from Walmart. I bought a nice Black Diamond one a few years ago but the Bushnell one is a little brighter and a lot cheaper. I think it's also on sale at the moment.

I will 2nd the Bushnell. I have had mine for 2 years and use it all the time. from setting decoys in the dark to checking cows during calving season. it is bright and runs a long time on 3 lithium AA batteries

I bought a Led lenser a few years back, use it for coming out of the rough in badlands after dark, very good light, also I find battery pack on back of headband alot more comfortable to wear and stay in place better.

My koda headlamp has been amazing. Found it on Camofire for dirt cheap three setting plus strobe to induce vomiting.

It actually has 2 buttons with 2 settings on each button. The one button is low and bright light and the other button is a blueish toned light and a red light used apparently for blood tracking.

Wildeyes, you know I wade a lot at night, and am on my third brand of "OMG, this is my new favorite". Talk to me before you buy one, and/or try a couple of mine.

Had a Petzl Tikka Zipka for many years, and was very sad when I misplaced it. Bought a LED Lenser last year, and I do like that the battery pack is in the back, but it eats batteries fast. Bought a Storm last fall, and it's my new favorite, and it's easy on batteries.

Honestly, let's get together and I will spill my guts. The Storm was half the price of the Lenser, if memory serves.

He koda cost me $8. Ran the same set of batteries from fall fishing through a badlands trip.

I have a Trident from streamlight. Great light, 3 settings, and comfortable to wear.

I've had the some of the fancier headlamps, but I really like the Energizer one that you can dim. I like it most for the really good red light for musky fishing at night.
