who owns flock cameras in Bismarck ?

AI Overview

Flock safety cameras in Bismarck are operated and utilized by local law enforcement, such as the Bismarck Police Department, alongside private entities like businesses and property groups who install them on their own premises. The physical hardware and data systems are manufactured by Flock Safety, a private technology firm, but the specific deployment ownership belongs to the individual municipal or private customer entity that purchases and registers them. Ownership and Operation Breakdown
    • Law Enforcement: Local police agencies own the data and control the units deployed for public safety and active investigations.
    • Private Businesses: Commercial properties, shopping centers, and private commercial lots own units placed on their private real estate.
    • Flock Safety: The parent technology vendor does not own the physical units once installed or sell the collected data, acting instead as the service and software provider

It would be interesting if someone sat outside any PD with a camera on a tripod pointed directly at their front door and parking lot entrance. Then had any interaction filmed as well. See how they like being surveilled. I for one, would like to see how that plays out. Seeing as how filming from a sidewalk is constitutionally protected activity. I suspect it would get fairly tangled in about 10 seconds flat.

If someone’s collecting data on us they’re selling or getting paid to do so. Since it’s our info they’re collecting and selling we need a law to require them to pay us a cut. Just film, no problem. But the second you match us to anything that reveals our identity you owe us.

It’s been done. Most of the time they get real touchy, real fast!
