I bought a Bear Alaskan at Jim's Sport Shop in Devils Lake in 1961.

I miss those old sports shops and trading posts from that era. I was a kid and it seemed like every medium size town had a sports shop that was worth walking into just for the dreams that occurred in them, they were all unique in thier own way. The only store I remember going into back then. Bucks in Rugby had a big black bird that could talk and would swear like a sailor .
