Getting ready for ice fishing! Looking for lakes near Bismarck/Mandan

Hi everyone, getting excited for the ice that is to come soon! My group typically goes to Audubon or Tschidia to ice fish but both are quite the drive from Bismarck. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that are a little closer other than sweet briar. I checked game and fish but most lakes are 50+ miles away which is more difficult to plan for a little after work fishing. Just wondering if there were any lake suggestions for that fun after work bite. Any and all suggestions welcome!

Some people have no idea how fortunate we are to have the fishing opportunities available within an hour or so of our capital city. Not many other places like this.

Check out Harmon north of Mandan.

harmon has fish in it, not sure about size but there are crappy, gills and pike for sure...
