My dog was 12 and even though his mind, vision, and hearing was all good he also stopped eating, drinking, and had lost 15 pounds in the course of a month. The vet told me it was time and I could tell in his eyes that he knew it was the end. The decision to say goodbye is never easy but you did the right thing. I bought  a new pup a couple weeks ago and although i know he will be a good dog and that he is intelligent but its never the same as the one you lost. I am convinced that every time you lose a pet you lose a little bit of yourself each time thats the worse part of having a dog is that they dont live longer.</p></blockquote><p></p>
