Heading to Hawaii in mid November and interested in booking a day of fishing. Anyone have any recommendations for charters or tips, tricks, things to know, etc?

I think it depends on what you want to fish as different fish are around different times of year. I went deep sea fishing in December while it was fun we caught a few fish it would be boring if your looking for a bunch of action

Ask if you get to keep your fish, if you want to keep them. A friend of mine went fishing in Hawaii @ 5 years ago, and the charter captain didn’t let them keep the fish they caught. Not only that, but the captain sold he fish on the dock & kept the cash for himself

Holy crap, I'd be quite upset about this if it wasn't clearly outlined in the charter.

Good advice. Not that I'm all that interested in keeping any of the fish but I'd like to know those details before hand. Thanks!

Our captain in Mexico Helped us find a buyer at the dock and I split the money with him. 150kg tuna. We kept about 10lbs to eat fresh when we were there and sold the rest for $12/lb to a buyer for a resort.
