Got a letter today that our supplement insurance is going up from 180 to 220 per month. Called insurance co and asked why did the cost go up 10 $ more per month than my SS increase this year. The answer I got was cause the state said they could. What the f--k is wrong here. State insurance comm said they could so how much did his or her pocket get linned.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: LB PS at the end of conversation the guy I was talking to said that I could just cancel my insurance if I didn't like it.

Yea Sanford and essentia are not for profit, Right. All those big insurance companies CEO need more for their Golden Parachutes and 9 figure salaries. Nobody and I mean NOBODY is worth that kind of money. LB

I have BCBS supplement and it went from 106.00 in 2024 to 105.00 in 2025. Yes it went down 1.00. My copay for office visits went from 40.00 to 50.00. Emergency room went from 90.00 to 140.00.

I'm on a few sleep meds and Flowmax (like every old guy will be on) and my copay is zero.

All medical is cheaper being retired than when I was working.

What’s an old guy? If I could give a piece of advise, stop consuming carbohydrates.. what are carbohydrates you ask, simple sugars witch would include but not limited to breads and rice.

I may qualify as an old guy.. with proper blood pressure and good blood work. My Doc is surprised I’m not on some kind of meds.. I eat meat, eggs, fish and cheese. Protein

Glad it worked out for you…didn’t for me. I paid $4200 out of pocket for prescriptions last year on Medicare and BCBS supplement plan. I would have paid a lot less on my former plan before Medicare. I had to ask the pharmacist “ what do poor people do with this?” He just shrugged…

Bob, Did you compare your plan with nextblue premium PPO in the link I posted ? I'm trying to figure out this business out why there is such a difference between 2 households or is it 2 different plans ?

If only it was that simple. Carbs are not bad for you when eaten in a balanced diet. Complex carbs found in fruits and vegetables when eaten at the right times and amounts are not bad. Now if people removed the simple carbs for the most part it would be good. Its just like salt its bad if you over consume but that goes for any thing. My friend was just doing the carnivore diet and got blood work he had elevated protein levels in his luckily they caught it in time and did not do any damage. Switch back to a balanced diet and his levels were back to normal. Alot of people have blood work done yearly maybe if your going to be on one of the fad diets a person should get it checked every couple months to make sure your not doing any real damage.

Yep. It’s not the price of insulin that gets me, it’s the cost of supplies for an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor…

You should have to pay 2000 this year. Here is another interesting twist , I paid about 1200 last year out of pocket , however with the cap DECREASING to 2K , I immediately got a letter telling me that my out of pocket would increase to 2000. Same drugs . So what they did was subsidize the people that were paying more by increasing the out of pocket on people paying less . what a deal huh

Davey Is nextblue the same as Bluecross-Blue shield? LB

BCBS up 20% again for my small business

had to ask employees to start chipping in after 30 yrs of paying full health/dental

something’s wrong with the system
You would be better off dissolving your small group and paying for plans for your employees through the marketplace.

Retiring shouldn't be so complicated. During my working years I dealt with a lot of business decisions and various contracts with confidence. Then when I retire, thinking it will be a nice rest for my brain, then I Nucken fear nent wuts with decisions about retirement, medicare and insurance . Not wanting to turn this into a political thing but I hope this administration can streamline this and make it user friendly for retirees.

Another thing that irked me , I kept getting calls from this 3rd party to "help" me and kept saying no thank you , One day I finally listened her out . The company was contracted by BCBS and they wanted to send someone 90 miles to my house and take my blood pressure. I told her no thank you but she kept trying to tell me what a great thing this would be for me because she would record it to my doctor and it's free. I told her what I think about that program and I bet she won't call back.
