I am going to try to put my Hummingbird 998c on my Sportsman 850xp. Anything tricky about this?

Have the RAM Mount, power directly to 4 wheeler battery, GPS is mounted?

Any thoughts from the ice fishing world? Bring on the ice...

I would make a box for a seperate battery to run the graph. That graph will suck down that little wheeler battery if you aren't careful and leave you stranded.

Great advice Ahab. That's exactly what I was wondering about.

I assume a regular Vex battery will be enough power to run the 998c/GPS?

I just hooked a helix 7 up to my ATV. I used a RAM handle bar mount and then wired it to a separate vexilar battery. I ran the wires under the plastics and back into my Otter box on the back where i will have my battery mounted. Can also run LEDS for my otter box off it then if i want. I think the key to longer battery is to turn down the brightness on the graph.

I second that, you don't want to be stranded on the lake because of a dead battery. Spend twenty dollars on a vexilar battery and you wont have any issues. I have my Lowrance HDS7 on my wheeler and it works great. I plan on adding an iceducer this year.

I ran a 859 hd with a map chip as my ice fishing sonar last winter. It worked fine but did go through in a little over half a day. I just brought an extra battery along to swap out when it died.
