Message: <blockquote data-quote="Jiffy" data-source="post: 475866" data-attributes="member: 6332"><p>The saddest thing I ever witnessed happened over there.  We were on a security patrol (mechanized) and of course the kids would swarm and get in the way.  There was this one little guy kind of hanging back, he was a lot smaller and less aggressive than the rest.  We were instructed not to give them anything for obvious reasons.  Well I couldn’t listen to that.  I tossed him a sand bar (an oatmeal bar from a MRE) and as soon as the caught it the older bigger kids attacked him.  I still remember the look on his face.  That wasn’t just a sand bar to him, it wasn’t a special treat, it was life for maybe  a couple more days.  I will never forget that.  As much as I wish I could!! Remember that when you’re eating your prime rib tomorrow.  Remember that!! We’re very lucky!!</p></blockquote><p></p>
