Who knew the term rough fish was racist! Seriously who thought to interview some random academic from the south on this topic. The guy didn’t even know of far were edible! So much for being a fishery expert!

1. Rivers die from winter kill all the time
2. Calling trash fish what they are is not racism
3. Why not go spear rough fish if some people are going to make good use out of it, doesn’t sound racist to me to feed the communities that will eat it!

Also native Americans in the upper Midwest are the ones who dominate the commercial fishery, only rough fish are allowed to be harvested by non natives. Why do commercial fishermen just leave pike and other bycatch on the ice on lake winnepeg and other lakes? But sure white people are the problem…..
