[QUOTE="Wildyote, post: 116405, member: 2259"] I currently have a Remington CDL 257 Weatherby which I sold the factory stock and put an HS Precision stock on it. I had a Weatherby Stainless Vanguard in a 257 before that. Both rifles shot good but the Remington better. The weatherby shot 3/4 in with 100 grain tsx and 110 accubonds. The Remington shoots 117 sierra game kings and 115 partitions at 1/2 in but the accuracy holds better at longer distances. You will want to get a 26 in tube in order to burn all that powder and get max velocity out of your load. With a 24 in tube you will basically have 25-06 velocities. As most factory guns come with junky triggers both the vanguard and the rem are in need of a timney. I see the big reason for Remingtons not shooting out of the box right now is the 2 biggest factors that can be fixed fairly cheap which is get rid of that POS x-mark trigger and glass bed your stock or buy a stock with an aluminum bedding block in it and they will shoot. One thing to remember when you buy a Remington there are readily available after-market and factory parts and accessories as well as every gunsmith likes working with Remington actions when they custom build a rifle.
