Full safety gear is standard issue for old people who don't like to think about ending up using a walker at 53. I am on several Groups on FB and about once a week some poor SOB posts a shattered elbow/wrist/knee xray photo and begs everyone to stop being cool and gear the #### up.

There's zero chance I'd even consider getting back into skating lately without it. Fall a few times with no gear on concrete and you too would be googling the #### out of every safety and anit-breakage device you can get your hands on.

I wear the spenders so I can wear loose baggy shorts without hiking them up every 30 seconds.

Example posts:

Elbow pads? Next time.

WEAR YOUR GEAR! Just broke my 2nd wrist almost a year to the day after I did my first one. Other hand of course. Was only wearing a guard on the one I'd broken. Too cool for school I guess. Learning the hard way. Wrist guard was in the bag. What a dummy. Completely preventable.

49. Perth Western Australia. Siting here left wrist in a cast fractured. Right wrist very badly sprained maybe worse will find out on Fri. Right elbow fractured into the joint 2mm step down on the joint surface. MRI and CT this morning. Another MRI tomorrow. These happened in one fall about 10 weeks ago. Pretty low speed hit stick board stopped I didn't. Landed very heavily on out stretched hands.
I always wear a helmet. But now I always wear wrist guards and elbows as well.
Seeing the Orthopaedic Surgeon on Fri. Feeling really old in body but keen as mustard in the head.
Only found out about the fractures last week after X-rays. In ER X-rays were done on wrists didn't show anything broken. Elbow wasn't X-rayed in ER. Feeling old and broken, but looking forward to getting back out there in a full suit of armour looking out for little bits of detritus when I'm moving at slower speeds.

Smoth move on keeping it at work. Im sure its nice to put all your accidents threw workmans comp vs health insurance.

Probabaly cuts down on the drunken mishaps as well.

yes - lots and lots of screws in the bones

I think I'll pad up.

I'm definitely not a doctor. WTF?!! I separated my hand from the ulna and radius and thankfully received nothing as elaborate.

Those screws are complete obvious bullshit and I'm feeling ashamed I didn't study that better as I never dreamed Buddy Guy would post "click bait".

Another thing which makes me sad is my brain no longer has the proper gear. I know how to do a lot of shi'ite in my head. Pay more attention to preserving your health with nutrition (not retard stuff or retard diets) constant exercise complementing your interests and reading/math.

Buddy Guywhofishes is kind of a hero; still goes fishing and drinks beer.
