^^^^IMO: Smithwick Rogue and Rapala Ripstop. I'm still a Husky Jerk/wire/lead tape fellow: I was validated last week on "In Fisherman". Doug said he always used wire with jerks when pike were present. I quote: "The walleye don't mind". CAVEAT: I studied the leader and it appeared home rolled; not from an Eagle Claw pack. Buy Eagle Claw packs and home roll...(?)

I DO recommend coated steel over titanium if you're constantly casting. Titanium becomes randomly brittle and will snap on on the back cast: Not "much" of an issue on the bank or if the bait floats: Still a pisser.

That is all.

I've beat the tar out of an X-Rap like the one shown on some Canadian Smallies. The now wife and I probably caught for 3hrs after I found where the school was hanging out just outside of a little bay. No sonar available and defiantly no horizontal sonar, I used a technique that maybe some remember or have read about called "Fan Casting" ...popcorn...
Smallest was 14" and the 2 biggest went 19.5" if memory serves correct, sometimes it doesn't. Thumb was pretty tore up by the time we got back to the cabin.
