I have not fished Tschida before and was wondering if there are any hazards I should be aware of before putting the boat in.

Thanks in advanced

There are some shallow humps and extended shallow points. G and F has took maps to give you an idea where they are.

Not to hijack....but has anyone else noticed the ungodly amounts of cabins and lots for sale along this lake? I have never been down there. Is it a great recreation and fishing lake? I thought I read awhile back that the Corp was screwing with the landowners and lot owners around it. Correct me if I am wrong!

Most of them on bisman are a private resort. Farmer sold it to an investent group and they jacked the rates 50%.

I believe the corp was only screwing with the people that rented the lots that were actually lower than the spillway. They all flooded in 2011 and caused a mess.

The water is pretty high right now so sticking to the middle of the lake will provide safe travel you will run into the occasional 4 ft area right now but until the water goes down you shouldn't have much trouble with the sunken humps and points. Also the fish are banging right now pretty easy to catch 50 fish a day without trying to hard.

After you head through the narrows there is a rock reef on the north side about 20 yards from shore. That's about the only place you really have to worry about.

The Corps of Engineers doesn't manage Lake Tschida. It's the Bureau of Reclamation.
