Looking to put a new tube in the family room. We looked at some sets Sunday and it seems as though the picture quality was rather stark between the different brands. The last big one I picked up was a Samsung 50 inch, and the picture quality was spectacular, the salesman stated at that time Samsung was the best picture available, LED 1080 240 or whatever all them numbers are.

Anyway I am not in the mood, nor do I have a bunch of extra time to be researching all this high tech business.
I am sure someone on here has recently picked up a 65-75 inch TV and has some quick answers for me.

1. Which brand had the best picture
2. What extras are needed for a non facebook kind of guy that is going to use this tv for just tv and some movies
3. Trying to stay in that $1800 or less margin.

Thanks

It appears he needs a warmer place and a big TV to watch while he is putting on more weight.:;:

BTW, I just bought a 55 inch LG LED that I think has a nice picture.

Look at reviews on amazon maybe. You get what you pay for, if others like it you probably will also... Samsung still one of the better brands out there I think.

Well mrs johnr made the decision to move to a bigger place, after I had my other place all set up the way I liked it. Now I have to redo some garage amenities, get a bigger tv for the bigger man cave, and drink a fancier beer for our fancier friends...haha :;: it doesn't get any fancier than an Ice Cold Busch Light.

She is getting her spiffy new kitchen, so I am getting a spiffy new TV the heater is for the both of us, as she parks in my garage too.

The weight gain thing is just a tragic side effect of the desk job and ice cold Busch lights. I am thinking of switching to meth, seems to keep a guy skinny.

Samsung or LG is the ticket?

Let me know how that meth works out for you. I also have a desk job and enjoy beer.

Is meth smoked, snorted, or ingested, as I am anti smoking, so I need to know before a costly purchase

Wait for cyber Monday, you can get some crazy deals on big TVs then.
That's what I did and when it was delivered the truck was full of big screens!

Have you looked into the new curved flat screens, saw a couple already and that would be the way I go when my old 500# Sony Vega tube tv craps out in 10-20 years if tv is still a viable entertainment device by then lol.

I have a 65 inch visio. I think the picture is good. Might not be the best but for a grand instead of 3 grand plus for a top of the line model I've been happy.

If you have the room for a projector this would be the ticket, but most of all make sure check to see what your viewing distance is from the screen then go from there, good luck. I have a 46" 4k Ultra High Definition Samsung Smart tv it is too big of a screen for only 6 ft away but it was a hell of deal. It is actually my computer screen/TV, I run my hdmi from my computer to the Samsung TV in my living room, wireless keyboard and mouse and wires run down through the floor to the basement to various speaker locations. That way I can watch all my TV shows and football games online for FREE!!!!
