Best Buy currently has this at $1900, wouldn't be surprised to see that come down to $1500-$1600 in the next month. Watch it, and buy it. As Martin says "done".

there is a big cost jump in going from a 65" to 70"+. If budget is firm I'd stick with 65" or smaller to stay on budget. If you want to go 70"+ there are 2 solid choices in my opinion. Samsung or Sharp. At that point it is really the picture preference. Samsung has a very bright screen with vivid (but somewhat unrealistic colors), and the sharp has a toned down more realistic color representation. Look at them and see what you like. I opted for the 75" Sharp but the Samsung was very nice as well.

Curved screens are a gimmick IMO and dont do you much good unless you are 4ft from the TV....

I will be in Fagro over thanksgiving, so I trip to the mall/best buy will be in order on black(African American) Friday.

Trying to be PC as to not have any hurt feelers out there.

I am pretty sure the screen size will be 65 or 70, whatever mrs johnr approves

I haven't shopped for a TV since my last purchase about 2 years ago. I found Cnet.com to be a good source for reviews. It appears the Vizio brand is rated pretty well for the price. If I was on your budget, I would look at their M series. It appears to be in the middle with the E-series being the entry line. Their M65-C1 model is a 65" 4K for about $1500 and has postive reviews.

Cnet review: http://www.cnet.com/products/vizio-m-series-2015/#p=vizio-m65-c1/

Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T63YUDK/?tag=nodakangler10-20

As honkerslayer mentioned, 65" seems to be the sweet spot for price right now. It's not that much more for a 65" over a 60" but a 70" is quite a bit more then a 65".
